Bonjour mes amis,

I am very new to this forum, so I will begin by saying hello to everyone. Please accept my apologies, for not being able to write very well in french, although my spoken french is quite good. I am interested in looking for work in France and would like any help I can get. Someone very special to me lives in Paris and I would like to be a little closer to her. I am not necessarily looking for work as a pilot, since I do not have a JAA licence at the moment. I am looking for non-flying work to start. My plan is to find a good job and eventually, write the exams to obtain my JAA. If any of you have suggestions, or any contacts, your assistance in helping me to find work in Paris would be greatly appreciated.

Merci en avance, et a bientot.

hello cool rythms

it's really a pleasure to speak to a foreigner... I won't advise you to come in France in order to find a flying job because it's not the good period... but if you want to have a non flying job, it could be a great experience for you and I think you would be able to find one in Paris. You have to contact the ANPE and look for a job . I think your english and your french speaking will help you to find one rapidely. Good luck!!!

could you tell us a little about the aviation in Canada and if there are opportunities to get a flying job.

Thank you

PS : jai essayé de faire au mieux pr langlais , jespère que c compréhensible. a+

Hello nico03,

Thanks for your response. I will follow your advice in my job search.

As far as the Canadian market is concerned, it is up and down. There are too many unemployed pilots and not enough jobs. I'm not sure if you are aware, but Jetsgo, a low cost airline which was based in Montreal, just closed their doors without any warning. This left more than 17,000 passengers stranded and more than 1,300 employees without a job. The sad part, is that the pilots were required to invest $30,000 to do their training on the MD 83. Many of them won't even get that money back. There are a few companys which are hiring, such as Westjet and some of the cargo companys. And in general, the industry does seem to be showing a bit of a positive trend.

The market here goes in waves, one month there's hiring, next month nothing. I will look around for non flying jobs in Paris for now, then do my exams for the JAA and eventually begin looking for flying work again. I have a UK passport, which I will renew, so I think that will entitle me to work in France.

Thank again for your response.
