Pilot shortage is a myth. It doesn’t exist, it’s used as a lobby to get lower conditions and the single pilot project.

Following the AIR BERLIN’S bankruptcy came Black October, when in just a few weeks, the following aftermath was left:

1. AIR BERLIN - Shut down

2. PRIMERA AIR - Shut down.

3. TUI NORDIC - Shut down.

4. COBAL AIR - Shut down

5. CELLO AVIATION - Shut down

6. SMALL PLANET - was in the process of restructuring and was asking for financial assistance, with an 80% reduction and downsizing of staff and its operations. Today, November 3rd, Small Planet has stopped operating and its only two remaining airplanes are shut down.

7. AIR BELGIUM - Reduced its operations to the bare minimum and are also considering shutting down.

8. JET AIRWAYS - with very serious financial problems, layoffs, and deferred payments.

9. FAST JET - it seems that they are about to join the list, starting their emergency financial plan, with drastic reductions of operations and declared an uncertain financial status.

10. In Latin America, in Argentina, it is worth mentioning the abrupt strong government interest in downsizing the Flag Carrier that employs 1,600 skilled and rated pilots with ample experience in the E-190, B737NG/MAX Y A330/340 airplanes.

11. Avianca Brazil, filing for bankruptcy and/or crisis plan.

12. WOW Airlines is under extreme danger and is threatening massive layoffs and ceasing operations.
