Hello to all
I am a pilot who flies mainly from Switzerland to Sardinia where we live part of the year.
I currently have a Cessna U206G that I will sell to buy a Cessna FT337GP 1974 Reims.
This aircraft is equipped with the Robertson Stol kit.
Are there any 337 owners who have experience with this stol kit?
Is it a real advantage? I often take off and land on relatively short fields like 600 / 700 m at an altitude of 1800 feet.
I have read that it requires a specific technique?
Thank you for your feedback and advice
Alain

I think you will be better off asking on C337 forum?
There should be a short field technique in POH & STOL/STC that replicate some book numbers, bellow these numbers people may suggest some unorthodox techniques, a word of caution: these tend to require load of hours practicing high performance takeoffs & landings in very easy environments as they are not adequate for first hours on type, “il faut essayer avant d’acheter” !
Never flown C337 but I guess good thing about it: one twin that allows one to approach way bellow Vmca

Also bear in mind that if you perform a max performance takeoff and lose an engine, you're screwed... so you lose the potential safety benefit of the second engine. The same thing goes for some DA42 for which a flaps 1 short field takeoff (added drag) is allowed, way below Vyse.
